SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER! Its all about relaxed, bohemian, and organic styles this summer, so ditch the winter pumps and slip on your favorite flip flops (mine are yellow leather T straps :) ) and hit up the beach.
All week I will be covering ways to "Get the Look: Beach Chic" from the outfit, to the beach body workout, to the fun in the sun. So grab your ice-cold rasberry lemonade, and get ready to hit the sand!
Step 1: The Bikini
For a one season piece, you can't beat a bathing suit under $20. Which is why I'm in love with this bikini from Forever21. I like to mix and match and I usually go for a plian top and a printed bottom because it makes my body look more proportionate. Try out this combo or go for your own!
Step 2: The coverup:
I'm kind of obsessed with ASOS, and I think this oversized tee is absolutely perfect as a bathing suit coverup. At the beach you can get away with rocking the shirt/bikini bottom combo, which is a great way to show some skin while leaving some to the imagination. Plus it will protect you from nasty UV rays. And at less than $15 bucks, you really can't afford not to right? :)
Want to cover the bottoms too? DIY jorts-check out this tutorial.
Step 3: The Beachy Hair
Probably the easiest, but most different hairstyle that I've seen in a while, found on Glamour. Start with beachy waves, either by using your favorite, mousse, texturizer, or maybe you're a natural. Then simply pick up a section of hair in the middle, tuck it under another section of hair, and pin. Gives off that "I really could care less that I look this hot" vibe. Blake Lively puts it to work below:
Check back Wednesday for Part two to complete the look: adorable beach tote, sunglasses to protect your peepers, flirty flip flops and jewelry.
Friday we will cover fun in the sun, beach tips, beach reads, and more :)
Enjoy the rays!
